January 2009

Hi all, hope you have been staying warm by reading or listening to lots of fun books this January. I still have many recommended books from our Summer Reading reviews and I am going to share some with you right now! I have really enjoyed seeing all of the reviews and have found some great reads lately from my past blogs. There are always fun things going on at the library so check out the Children’s Calendar on my Blogroll to see what is going on close to you. The Big Read is in February and there are many special programs in February to help us celebrate at all of our branches.  Here’s my 5 star review list, hope you find one that you like and be sure to leave a comment and let us know what you think about the library.

Sarah Albee                No Cookies?                    5 Star ReviewNo Cookies?

Reviewed by Jackson            Age 2 1/2

No Cookies? is an excellent way for parents to show the importance of healthy eating to their children. Jackson adores Cookie Monster, but as most of us know, Cookie’s diet isn’t the best! No Cookies? teaches Cookie Monster and young readers that cookies are a “sometimes food” but it is also important to try other, healthy foods!
