Tomorrow at 6:45 a.m. it will be spring here in Missouri and I think we are all ready for it. This weekend has been really warm and sunny and everything is flowering and greening up. I didn’t want you to be sitting out in the sun and not have something good to read so I have found a great list of books for you to try. It is a good mix of fun fiction, biographies and even a non-fiction for you to try. Be sure to comment and let us know if you liked any of these or have some suggestions of your own.

Satch and Me is about a 13 year old boy and his baseball coach who travel through time to meet one of the best pitchers of all time, Satchel Paige. The kid’s name is Joe Soshak and his coach’s name is Flip Valintini. They are big baseball fans. It’s a great book for all ages.

I loved all the different stories because they made you feel like you’re actually there! My 2 favorite stories in this book are “The Healing Truth” and “Stealing Dreams”. “A Glory of Unicorns is one of my most favorite books!

Lily’s Crossing is about a 10 year old girl who has to move to Rockaway with her gram. While she’s there, she finds a kid named Albert. When they work together to save a kitten, they become great friends. At the end, it works out great.

I like this book because it’s like her diary. Also it’s about a 10 year olds life and I’m a 10 year old. I’d give it a four star rating because it says what’s really on her mind and really lets out her feelings. I also like it because it’s funny.

The most exciting part about this book is when the children, Edmund and Grandpa asked 2 people some questions to prove they were selling other people’s paintings. I would like to meet the character Benny because I’m kind of like him, just not the same age! My friend should read this book because they love funny things, like Benny. The meanest part was when Rachel yelled at the Boxcar Children for “messing with her mom”! The happiest part was when Mrs. Spencer got her friend’s paintings back for safekeeping.

I couldn’t keep my eyes out of the book. I loved it! I loved the ending! Who would have thought that Miss Trunchbull was Miss Honey’s aunt. Poor Matilda! Her parents don’t care about her. I’m glad Miss Honey got to keep her.

The funniest part of the book was when Kathleen and her friend Lucy spent the night in her treehouse. The heard a mysterious noise outside the treehouse somewhere. But there was nothing to be scared about, because the noise ended up being one of the neighbor’s peacocks! I would like to meet Kathleen McKenzie because she was a good God-following girl, and she was nice.

Island of the Blue Dolphins is a great book! The scariest part of this book is when Wonapalei fights a giant devilfish (a.k.a. an octopus!). People should read this book because it is a true story, and a real adventure at that!

I loved this BOOK!!! It had a little of everything in it, but alot of action in it. I think that every girl (or maybe even a boy) should read this because under all that royal stuff she’s like anybody. I wish I could have met Cleopatra VII herself, she’s so cool!
